Lares/Sharp Event - Axe Throwing

We had such a great time planning our event with the Sharp's. We started with several ideas and narrowed it down to axe throwing - and threw in a scavenger hunt, too - and we're so happy with how it all came together.

Here was their invitation.

Once they arrived at our house, we had a table set up on our front porch with 2 envelopes stating the 2 "teams".

Team #1 - Jolene (Captain), Tammy & Craig

Team #2 - Mike (Captain) Jeff, Michelle & Chuck

They were not to open the envelope until their entire team was present.

Inside the envelope were the "rules".

Rules:

1.) Use our garage code to begin!

2.) Turn in all cellphone's to your driver except for the captain.

3.) Driver cannot speak.

4.) Be creative & use imagination.

Stacey and I were waiting in our vehicles in the garage. I took team 1 and she took team 2.

Adam and Bryson were in our house watching it all go down on the Arlo.

Once our teams made it to the cars, Stacey and I gave them their first clue.

"We are wearing our jeans, we have our comfy shoes. Now what do we do? Don't smirk, but you'll need a flannel shirt. Beg, borrow or steal. Do what you need to do."

They immediately thought it was a race and we Stacey and I didn't let them think one way or the other.

Craig was already wearing a flannel shirt, so he immediately thought he was the winner. haha Tammy said she had 2, so her and Jolene were covered.

In Stacey's car, Jeff had enough flannel shirt for their whole team, so they had a one stop, too.

Once their team had on their flannel's they needed to text a team picture to Adam and Bryson.

Adam & Bryson sent them their next clue.

Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum

Find these coordinace

And we won't call you dumb

They had to download apps and try to figure out how to find the specific coordinance, which ultimately led them to the library.

Stacey and I gave them their next clue when they got there, which was to find the book "Jack" and the Beanstalk and take a picture with the librarian.

After that, Adam and Bryson sent them their next clue, which was a picture of Dakota County (the map), which is on the building/logo of Dakota County Lumber.

They figured it out right away and took pics in front of the building.

Their next clue was a map of our neighborhood with all the street names blurred out. Red dots were on all our houses except for the Budde's, which was blue. They quickly figured this out, too, so we made our way to the Budde's where Adam and Bryson sent them their next clue. On New Years Eve at our party, we had hidden clues behind pictures on their walls. These clues led them to my bosses house in Apple Valley where he had them chop a piece of wood with an axe and hammer in a nail. They were also given a shot, a suitcase and their next clue.

It was so cold, but they all were troopers and did a great job. Chuck chopped the wood for Team 2 and Craig did for team 1. The girls had a regular hammer and 3 tries to get the nail in and the guys had a tiny hammer and 3 tries. Michelle was the winner and hammered the nail in the furthest.

Their next clue led them to Bryson's sister's house, where they had to construct a cabin out of Lincoln logs. She also gave them a shot and another suitcase.

Their next clue led them back to our house where Adam and Bryson had a lumber jack dinner of pancakes, breakfast burritos, sausage, bacon and toast.

After we ate, we let them open their suitcases which were filled with suspenders, bandanas and beards.

We got all dressed up.

Then we drove up to St. Paul to Flannel Jax to go axe throwing. We had a blast. We had a 2 hour block of time with an ax-pert and all agreed we could have stayed at least an hour longer.

Super fun event and so happy it was a success.
