14 Years

Adam and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary on July 17th. It was the most amazing day.

Unbeknownst to me, Adam had asked Craig and Michelle if the girls could spend the night so that he could take me out. When I got home from work and pulled into the garage, Adam pulled in right behind me and met me at my door with a huge bouquet of flowers. He said that he got off work early and waited at the gas station across the street from my office until I left so that he could follow me home. I had no idea. Ha! He then told me that the girls were with the Beissel's for the night and that he wanted to take me someplace special. We drove all the way to Orono where I used to live when we met - we grabbed Jimmy John's to go and went to the place where Adam kissed me for the first time (on the forehead) - Norenberg Gardens. We sat on the boat dock and had a picnic and reminisced about when we first met, dated and then soon found out little Alexa was on the way. We've been through so much together. It seems like some of those memories were just days ago, yet it's been over 14 years already. I am so so lucky that Adam has stayed by my side through it all - the good and the bad. We are truly a team and I couldn't be happier. I am so blessed with such an amazing life and I owe it all to him. We walked around the gardens a bit and then drove to a few places that we used to hang out. Then went to Izzy's ice-cream in Minneapolis and walked around Gold Medal Park. It was the perfect night.
