Lares Family Fun Day

Adam and I were desperate for a family fun day, so we sat outside while grilling on a Friday night and planned an entire day for us and the girls. We call these 'adventure days'.

We told the girls Saturday morning that we were going to have a fun family day. They needed to pack a water bottle and their lifejackets, but didn't tell them anything else.

We drove them to the sailing center at Lake Calhoun and rented a canoe for the morning. It was such a beautiful day to be on the water. Adam and I paddled and the girls got to sit back and relax. The lakes and the lilypads were so pretty. We had the canoe for 2 hours and used up most of our time.

We got back in time for lunch at Lola's on the Lake. The girls had grilled cheese and fries and Adam and I had tacos. I also had a margarita slushie.

We stopped at Culver's for custard on the way home.

Adam had to take our friends up to Minneapolis for a concert, so the girls and I rested a bit before our next adventure.

We told them they needed to pack their pajamas, pillows, blankets and some fun outdoor games. Oh, and snacks.

We drove to Lake Elmo for a drive in movie. We stopped in Woodbury on the way to grab dinner and then had a picnic at the theater before the movie.

We also walked to the snack shack and played at the arcade. We had plenty of time so we played catch and some yard games.

Adam grabbed us some drinks at the snack shack before the movie began. The girls put their jammies on, we folded the back seats down the car and they snuggled in. Adam and I sat on chairs in front of them.

We saw Incredibles 2. Such a cute movie. And such a fun experience.
