One of our girls' best buds took 3rd place out of 8 at her cheer competition yesterday at the convention center in downtown Mpls. We were so excited to be there to cheer her on as she wow'd the crowd. Dang that girl can fly! Way to go, Emily! So proud of you and your team!
We made a day out of it and carpooled downtown for brunch at the Hen House with the Sharp's and Beissel's beforehand. Breakfast was delicious - the food and the atmosphere. I just love being downtown. We walked outside to the convention center from the Hen House and then Adam guided us through the skyway's to the parking ramp on our way back. Adam took us on a little ride through Minneapolis' Kenwood neighborhood, we drove by the house I lived in as a nanny, and around Lake of the Isle's. I always love driving around that area and looking at all the beautiful homes, but experiencing it with someone, Stacey and her kids, who've never seen that part of this beautiful city before was really really fun. They were in awe. We all came back to our house and ordered pizza for dinner. I always think how lucky our kids are to be able to spend so much time with their very best friends but, Adam and I are equally as lucky! None of us wanted the day/night/weekend to end. Adam and Lilli have been watching a show together (Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events) and Alexa and I have been watching a different show together (Good Witch), so after showers and laundry was put away, we separated and snuggled in to watch our shows. It was the perfect way to end the weekend. Embracing 'slowing down' and 'letting things go' - didn't get a chance to get groceries for the week and a plethora of other household items that we are in need of all at once (shampoo/conditioner, laundry soap, dryer sheets, etc.). I had a minor panic attack about it and then took a deep breath as I watched Adam creatively pack Lilli a lunch for school this morning while assuring me he'd pick up my entire list on his way home from work tonight. So thankful for a husband who acknowleges the anxiety this causes me and goes out of his way to make it 'all better'. Happy Monday!
